While we've passed, or soon will pass, that "What is it?" stage, we are still very much in that "What can it DO for higher ed?" phase. I keep hoping for the killer app here that will speak to everyone, but I believe that moments of revelation will come sporadically, as people see discipline-specific efforts of their colleagues bear fruit. So it's not what the environment can DO, but what WE can do with the environment.
