Educational Gaming Commons - Press Start

We've met with members of the music department regarding the use of Rock Band and Guitar Hero in music education.  The big drawback at the time?  Lack of music creation, manipulation and improvisation.  With the upcoming release of Guitar Hero: World Tour, users will  now have access to a music creation tool within the game.  In addition to the basic creation tool, an article was posted today stating that a special Midi device can be purchased as well, which will allow musicians to create music with real instruments on a computer and the special midi software, then import the music directly into Guitar Hero. 

This opens a whole new realm of possibilities.  Hopefully we can get together with our colleagues in the music department when the game is released and brainstorm course applications of GH: World Tour.
