Will Videogames become better than Life?

TED Talks are always good, but this one just blew me away. Dave Perry does a fantastic job of laying out the past, present, and possible future of games, tying in the economic and social aspects as he makes his points. This takes about 25 minutes, and it's worth it. Watch this video.

Brett, you're absolutely right- this particular TED piece, as well as the video within it, is brilliant. The polar discussion in the comments, too, is completely engaging. Thanks for the pointer, and I'll check back to see if you, Stubbs, or other colleagues join the fray.

The idea of games being better than life is intriguing. I think some people are already choosing to take most of their stimulation virtually, so for those folks the answer is an obvious yes. Beyond that—judging other people's life choices based on our own—is a dangerously slippery slope.
